Works great, fast PDF export

Used Arc Studio Pro for my latest screenplay. The script formatting was automatic and perfect. PDF export was quick. No issues, very reliable for daily writing. Happy with the purchase.

Smooth switch from another software

I decided to try Arc Studio Pro after using Celtx for years. The onboarding was straightforward, and I appreciated the clear instructions for importing my existing Final Draft file – it worked perfectly. I mainly used the desktop app for Windows, and it was quite stable. The distraction-free writing mode was excellent for focusing. I also tested the mobile app on my iOS device, and while it's good for quick edits, I wouldn't write a whole scene on it. The automated backups gave me peace of mind. Customer support was responsive when I had a question about script versioning, getting back to me within a day. Definitely a well-thought-out piece of software.

Consistent performance, my go-to

This was my third year using Arc Studio Pro, upgrading from the free version a while back. I primarily use the desktop app on Windows and it's always been reliable. The script revision tracking is a feature I rely on heavily, and it continues to be very effective. This time, I also tried out the storyboarding tool more extensively, and it's improved since I last looked at it. It's consistently good, which is why I keep coming back instead of trying other software.

Easy to use, happy with it

Just got Arc Studio Pro for my script and it's pretty cool. I mostly used the desktop app on my Mac. It was easy to get started, didn't have to watch a ton of tutorials or anything. The cloud sync is handy, so I could switch between my laptop and desktop. No issues with it crashing or anything like that. Would recommend it if you're looking for something simple that just works.

Good features, minor UI quirks

I switched to Arc Studio Pro from Final Draft for a new project. The real-time collaboration feature worked great with my co-writer, which was a huge plus. Exporting to PDF was seamless. I found the dark mode very easy on the eyes during long writing sessions. My only minor gripe is that sometimes the Scene Navigator felt a little clunky to jump between scenes quickly. Overall, it's a solid tool and a good value for the annual plan.

Does Arc Studio have a free version that's actually usable, or is it just a super stripped-down demo?

D Daniel Perez 4 weeks ago
They do have a free tier, it's not a trial, you can use it permanently. It's got limited features compared to Pro, but definitely enough to get a feel for it and write some stuff.

It's decent for basic writing, but if you need things like full outlining or version tracking, you'll probably want to upgrade. But for just getting started, it's fine.

Thinking of buying the annual plan. Are there usually good discounts around the end of the year, like for Black Friday or something?

B Brittany Lewis 1 month ago
November and December are usually big months for them for sales, so Black Friday/Cyber Monday is a pretty safe bet. You can often save a decent chunk then.

They do often have deals around those times. And students/educators always get a good discount, if that applies to you.

How's the iPad app? Is it good for actual writing or more just for reading scripts?

J Jason W. 1 week ago
The mobile app, including iPad, is pretty solid. You can definitely write on it, not just read. It syncs with your desktop stuff seamlessly.

It's surprisingly good for writing. I've done a lot of work on my iPad with it when I'm away from my main computer. Full features, not just a viewer.

Can you use this offline? Like if I'm on a plane and don't have internet access, can I still work on my script?

I Ian 2 weeks ago
Yep, it has an offline mode. Your work just syncs up to the cloud automatically once you're back online. Super handy for travel.

I've used it on flights, no problem. Just make sure you've opened the script once while online so it's downloaded to your device.

Does Arc Studio let you track revisions easily? Like if I make changes, can I see what they were and go back if needed?

B Barbara Lopez 2 days ago
Yeah, it has revision tracking and script versioning built-in. It's really helpful for seeing changes and going back to older drafts if you mess something up or change your mind.

Definitely. The script history feature is a lifesaver. You can view previous versions and restore them if you need to, works kinda like Google Docs for scripts.
